Screening - Farmers

Do you want to screen The Hands That Feed Us with your local farming community?

We’re offering three options when the film tour stops in your area depending on how in-depth a discussion you think your attendees would want:

- Option 1 - Weekend workshop (two four hour evenings or one full eight hour day): This is a more in-depth, multi-part workshop designed to really delve into identifying and working through ideas to address key issues. This would likely be split into the following two hour segments:

- Identifying economic challenges within the local area

- Viewing the film

- Reflection on the challenges identified in part one

- Brainstorming actions in response to those challenges.

- Option 2 - Afternoon / evening event (four hours): This would be a screening followed by a two hour discussion designed to identify one way the film's message resonates within your community and one takeaway action for strengthening your participation in your local economy. This is used as a quick way to build on the foundations of what you’re already doing in your community and bringing people together.

- Option 3 - Screening only: You could facilitate your own event, but Devon would limit his role to only being there for the screening if possible.

Options 1 & 2 come with a request that we film the discussion for the purpose of producing a video podcast episode that would feature the ways that your community is actually improving your local economy. The episode would use your as a case study in how local economic impact can actually happen, and would connect you to a wider (non-local) audience of other farming communities that are facing similar challenges.

If you would like to go into more depth with us before we proceed with anything we would be more than happy to do so. In terms of the organization of such an event, we do have a blueprint of what we believe is required to screen the film and host a discussion successfully that we would be happy to send over.
